On July 13th and 14th, the Centre for Translation Studies of the University of Surrey hosted the finali SHIFT Multiplier Event in Guildford (UK). The event was titled "Remote Interpreting: Shaping Present Practice And Future Directions".
On day one, participants in the Symposium took stock of recent research on remote interpreting, discussed how this research translates into appropriate solutions for practice and training and identified key questions for future research directions. Day two featured a hands-on workshop for professionals who whised to receive training in remote interpreting and who tried a selection of activities based on the innovative pedagogical framework and research-informed material developed in SHIFT.
Participants in the event included academics, practitioners, industry stakeholders and representatives of professional associations.
On July 12th and 14th, SHIFT partners also convened for their final transnational meeting, during which they discussed final issues concerning the project but also, and above all, its future: impact, sustainability, and future follow-up activities.
